At the recent EWSA (Exe Water Sports Association) AGM a paper was presented by the Associations Treasurer highlighting a number of issues with the current operations of EWSA.
EWSA exists to manage the shared facilities that we occupy, but is struggling to meet a number of legal, contractual and operational requirements for both its current day to day operations and further new build plans. If these problems continue and EWSA is no longer a viable organisation, this will directly impact the Rowing Clubs ability to operate.
As a result of the Canoe club having advanced sight of this report, they decided to not put forward their required number of representatives and plan to call a EWSA Special General Meeting to discuss the issues, and put forward a suggested solution.
As a result of this the Rowing Club directors have decided that an EGM is required to present these issues to the membership due to the direct impact that they will have on them. At this EGM is is appropriate to present the committees reactions to the issues, and their suggested approach to the problems presented.
